I am on the board for a non-profit. We are looking for funds to assist us with the recruiting of volunteers.
We are also looking into funding to assist us with the program. Our program helps children who are abused and or neglected to find loving and permanent homes.
I recommend that you consider developing a grant program that would meet the needs you have identified in the children you are serving and in the new families that are being formed and make the volunteer program a component of that program. In fact, the volunteer component would be your sustainability plan once grant funds end.
At the federal level, I suggest looking at grants from the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) and ACYF.as well as grants from SAMHSA. and then build a volunteer component into the program.
Possible sources of volunteer funds on the local level might be your City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) or your Community Foundation.
The Area Agency on Aging may be a source for grant funds and/or volunteers.
